01 — About AFREEI

AFREEI stands for Africa Economy Engineering Initiative. It is an integrated, multi-sectoral economic system focused on socio-economic growth and development in African communities, beginning in Nigeria.

Its research-based approach focuses on identifying abundant regional resources and developing opportunities to produce goods and services from them, creating greater value for people and their communities.

AFREEI identifies abundant resources, builds economic value around them, and seeks to connect regions of supply with locations of need. Its wider vision addresses areas including education, innovation, agriculture, infrastructure, manufacturing, employment, rural development, investment, trade, culture and tourism.

The overall purpose is to contribute to the wellbeing of Africans and their environment by reducing resource waste and expanding productive opportunities.

AFREEI’s mission is to accelerate innovation in building value from existing human and environmental resources, and to implement innovations for industrialisation in support of the vision of eliminating waste of Africa’s abundant resources.

AFREEI is for people who believe in a better Africa and want to contribute to its development. Its original framework describes opportunities for different age groups and stages of working life, from introducing young people to the value of African resources to supporting productive youth participation and creating opportunities for experienced professionals and investors.

Communities, institutions and people with an interest in resource development and economic value building are relevant to this mission.

AFREEI was initiated in Akure, Ondo State, Nigeria, with an operational base in Yenagoa, Bayelsa State. Its wider vision is to extend its work to other African communities with resources that offer opportunities for economic development.

02 — Our Framework

AFREEI7 refers to AFREEI’s seven integrated growth and development plans. Together, they form a framework for coordinating its economy-engineering approach across different economic sectors and regional contexts.

The Afreei Formula is the overall delivery framework for AFREEI’s economy-engineering process. The original framework describes it as bringing together the integrated AFREEI7 growth and development plans and initiatives such as AfreeiMedia.

Its purpose is to connect the different parts of AFREEI’s work within a coordinated approach to resource value building and development.

AFREEI’s approach involves identifying abundant resources, researching and building their economic value, promoting the resources and their locations, and connecting locations of abundance with locations of demand.

The original framework also refers to Geographic Information Systems (GIS) and to the role of community facilities and government policies in supporting its work.

The original AFREEI FAQ identifies Afreei Network International Limited as the parent company of Africa Economy Engineering Initiative.

03 — Resources & Research

AR stands for abundant resources. In AFREEI’s framework, these are resources identified for further value development, production and reproduction. They can include environmental resources as well as human capabilities.

ARPR means Abundant-resource Producing Region. It refers to a region AFREEI has identified as producing a particular resource in abundance and with which AFREEI is developing a working relationship within its resource-development framework.

An Afreei Seed is a product of AFREEI. The original framework uses the term to describe a system, model, solution, developed resource, good or service designed for reproduction and commercialisation.

TIDs stands for Tertiary Institution Departments. In AFREEI’s framework, it refers to departments within tertiary institutions, particularly in science and technology, that may serve as resource centres for research and human-capital development through institutional collaboration.

AFREEI’s original framework describes its work as progressing through stages such as resource identification, value-building research, prototype development, public enlightenment and industrialisation. These activities are planned across the year in relation to the calendars of associated tertiary institutions.
