Africa Economy Engineering Initiative is confident in the Sugarbayelsa project, a project to turn the teeming youths of the state to productive members of the state and funneling the abundance-resource of the state into wealth for all.
As an emerging need for state self sufficiency and boost in internally generated revenue for the state of Bayelsa, the Ministry of trade, industry and investment Bayelsa State led by the Hon. Commissioner Stanley Braboke and accompanied by other executives played host to the AFREEI delegates, led by Mr. Bamidele Adedayo and Mr Awoyeye Tope to discuss and project the need and necessity for the state to invest in sugarcane agriculture, processing and sustainability and the agenda of the Federal government of Nigeria for the industry.
Bayelsa state, known for it’s rich soil, and the state being one of the havens for sugarcane plantation in Nigeria. With the meeting, it is believed that the Glory of all land State would revive its glory in the sugarcane industry as the ministry of industry, trades and investment being a major stakeholder in the Sugarbayelsa project embraced it in the positive direction, to provide thousands of jobs to the citizens and pull other industries into the State, a project estimated to generate revenue of over 13 billion naira annually.
There is no doubt that the present administration of Sen. Douye Diri will make giant strides in the agricultural sector of the state at the activation of Sugarbayelsa.
